Department Overview:
Credit Risk Policy (CRP) group is accountable for enterprise credit risk reporting, allowances, model governance for Canadian Non-Retail Models, review of all enterprise-level and segment level credit policies and lead enterprise level credit risk initiatives including regulatory projects.
The Credit Risk Initiatives group within CRP is accountable for:
- Leading enterprise-level credit initiatives such as the overhaul of the Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) forecast process and other regulatory projects.
- Credit Risk governance and control processes including the annual Basel IRB compliance attestation.
- Co-ordinating deliverables and presentations for the Risk Committee of Board (RCoB), Senior Executive Team (SET) and the Financial Risk Management (FRM) meetings.
Job Description/Accountabilities:
Within the Credit Risk Initiatives team, the Manager will play a key role in revamping the RWA forecast process with the following project accountabilities:
- Test and implement a newly created attribution tool to better explain drivers of RWA changes.
- Build and implement a new RWA forecasting tool that will enable sensitivity analysis under different scenarios.
- Work with Model Development to implement new quantitative models used for RWA forecasting.
- Enhance methodology, documentation, governance, and streamline the end-to-end RWA forecasting process.
In addition to the project accountabilities, the Manager will also be responsible for the quarterly execution of the enterprise Credit RWA forecast process, peer comparison and ad-hoc RWA analysis. Through integrating new RWA capabilities from the project, the goal is to develop deep insights, enable dynamic forecasting and align methodology across the enterprise. The role will interact frequently with teams within Credit Risk, Model Development, Enterprise Capital Management, and Finance.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and influence to deliver on key priorities.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables with competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and Business Analytical Tools (Alteryx, Tableau and Python)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and follow up skills, and careful attention to detail and accuracy.
- Continue to find ways to assess risks, enhance capabilities, processes and strive to do things better.
Education / Experience:
- 5+ years experience in Credit risk, modeling, Capital / RWA and project management
- Undergraduate or graduate business degree or equivalent relevant experience.
