PAL Technical Services is currently hiring a Procurement Manager to join our team in St. John's, NL.
Working under the direction of Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, the Procurement Manager will create and implement procurement strategies, build long-term relationships with vendors, compare proposals for price and specifications, negotiate with vendors to reduce costs, and review contract specifications on behalf of the company. Additional duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
- Proven experience managing supply chain operations
- Experience using supply chain management software and tools
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organization and time management skills
- Extensive understanding of the services or products the business sells and the industry it operates in
- Outstanding management skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
