Provincial Coordinator, Security Operations, Western Zone

Definition of work:
Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Security Operations within the Provincial Integrated Protective Services Department, this position is accountable for coordinating the development, implementation and sustainability of the Zones Security Operations Program. This includes coordination and contract management for contracted security services throughout the region, with the aim to mitigate risk to clients, staff and property. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of security related recommendations to internal and external stakeholders through the provision of Targeted Violence Assessments, Security Risk Assessments, Corporate Investigations, Loss Prevention Assessments. The coordinator will work with other provincial zone-based Security Operations Coordinators to manage, coordinate, and provide oversight in a manner that is consistent with NLHS contract-based Security services delivery and will work collaboratively with all departments and sites within the Zone. Where and when necessary, the coordinator will engage in planning sessions, and participate as a collegial partner and stakeholder in all other facets of the Integrated Protection Services program.

Required qualifications:
" Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
" Minimum of five years' experience within the last seven years in security/safety fields is required.
" Experience in Hazard and Risk based gap analysis.
" Experience in threat mitigation and conflict management.
" Experience in crime prevention.
" Knowledge of violence prevention programs.
" Knowledge of inventory control and asset management.
" Demonstrated commitment to quality.
" Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
" Demonstrated skills in the areas of leadership, program planning, research, project management and change management.
" Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
" Demonstrated strong analytical skills, with the ability to relate and compare data from different sources.
" Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
" Demonstrated strong teaching and training skills with the ability to convey information to others effectively.
" Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and the ability to function effectively in a high pressure, diverse and ever-changing environment.
" Knowledge and understanding of the interrelated nature of departments and programs in a health care setting.
" Knowledge and understanding of the importance of integration between Health Emergency Management, Security Systems and Security Operations roles.
" Demonstrated strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
" Demonstrated experience in writing and presenting policy documents.
" Demonstrated strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
" Demonstrated ability to lead and work well within an interdisciplinary team.
" Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
" Consistent demonstration of NLHealth Services core values; Innovation, Compassion,
" Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)
" Travel throughout NLHS is required.
" On-Call schedule is required.
" A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
" A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Hours of work: 70 hours biweekly
Salary: $67,978.00 - $88,372.00 per annum
