Manager of Mental Health Services

About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Director of Mental Health and Addictions, the incumbent is responsible for the provision of administrative and clinical support and supervision for Mental Health and Addictions staff in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area. The incumbent will also work closely with the Regional Management Team towards the ongoing development, maintenance, implementation and monitoring of policies and processes that contribute to improved quality and continuity of client care.
Qualifications:
" Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Nursing or Health Administration preferred
" Experience in a leadership and/or clinical supervision role
" Preferred 5 years' experience in a clinical mental health and/or addictions practice, including counselling with individuals, families and groups
" Advanced knowledge of mental health and addictions assessment and intervention methods
" Eligibility for registration with appropriate regulatory body
" Valid Class 5 driver's license
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Provides professional guidance and clinical support to Mental Health and Addictions staff, including direction on clinical skills, documentation requirements, standards of practice, and ethical issues.
" Promotes a positive working environment by facilitating the teamwork process and maintaining open communication with Mental Health and Addictions staff.
" Provides daily supervisory support to Mental Health and Addictions staff.
" Participates in Mental Health and Addictions program and policy development, implementation and evaluation.
" Manages the budgets designated for local program areas, including annual budgeting, monthly variance reporting, and responding to purchase requests.
" Continually monitors workload of team members and ensures that work is equitably distributed.
" As we continue to implement other recommendations from newly developed action plans the incumbent will assume other responsibilities.
" Participates in on-call rotational schedule to provide after-hours clinical supervision and support
" Travel may be required
" Other related duties as required.
Salary: In accordance with the Hay Management Plan, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
Hours of Work: 70 hours Bi-weekly; Monday to Friday.
