We are currently seeking the services of a Clinical Assistant at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL. This opportunity is available immediately.

Clinical Assistants are advanced practice clinicians, and they form part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

Job Summary
NL Health Services invites qualified candidates to submit their applications for the full-time position as a Clinical Assistant in the Family Medicine Departments of the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital of the Labrador-Grenfell Zone of NL Health Services.

The Clinical Assistant will work closely with Family Medicine, Emergency, Surgical and Inpatients teams and will be responsible to the Chief of Staff. Under such supervision, the successful candidate may be expected to provide surgical assistance in the operating room; assist physicians in the ER; and provide ward coverage including admissions within the Inpatients Department. Attendance at rounds and participation in on-call coverage (nights and weekends) shared equitably with the group is also required.

As the Clinical Assistant, you may be an International Medical Graduate, have a background in Family Medicine or Specialty training with an interest to work full-time, to learn or augment your skill set and comfort in the areas described above.

Required Qualifications
Education (Post-Secondary):
" Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador;
" Eligible for membership of the Medical Staff of NL Health Services;
" Demonstrates commitment to patient-focused care and evidence-based practice;
" FRCPC or equivalent (Clinical Associate) or Medical degree (Clinical Assistant)
" Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Hours of work: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly. May vary according to patient needs or needs of the
service to best utilize the time of the incumbent. Participation in on-call coverage, shared equitably with the group.

Remuneration: Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
