Registered Nurse IB - Long Term Care

Location: John M Gray Centre, St. Anthony
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to residents of the John M Gray Centre. The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume a leadership role and is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Resident Care Manager.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
" Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" Canadian Nurses Association Gerontological certification or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by
employer);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct;
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
" Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients;
" Participates in the auditing process as required;
" Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
" Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
" Participates in the orientation, mentorship and perceptoring of staff;
" Represents nursing on various committees as required;
" Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
" Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
" Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
" Monitors, participates and ensures MDS is completed and up to date as per staff assignment;
" Maybe required to provide support to other departments in emergency situations;
" Participates in CSRS process as necessary;
" Provides leadership support to members of the nursing team;
" Other related duties as required;
Salary:
" NS-30 of the NLNU salary scale $ 40.36 to $50.24 per hour.
Hours of Work:
" Casual, Variable shifts
