The Office of the Registrar provides front-line client service support to our academic community, current and former students, and alumni. The Office of the Registrar is a core service unit supporting the university's academic mission.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time | Continuing | Fredericton | On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work on weekends/evenings during peak admission periods.

Salary Range: $24.42 - $28.90 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Associate Registrar - Admissions, the Clerk PL5 (Admissions Officer) provides expertise in selecting Canadian/Permanent Resident applicants for admission to undergraduate programs at UNB (Fredericton).

  • Provide in-depth knowledge of admission criteria for all faculties and programs. Adhere to Admissions policies.
  • Maintain communication with faculties/departments to enhance the process of Admissions.
  • Deliver ongoing communication with individual prospective students regarding admission matters such as the application process, programs of application, entrance requirements and approved upgrading options.
  • Respond to admission inquiries. Ensure the integrity of the information provided is offered constructively.
  • Oversee all aspects of application data management, including daily import of online applications.
  • Record and manage all supporting application documents in a paperless environment, including communication with applicants concerning outstanding documents and application status.
  • Authenticate official documents according to established Admission procedures.
  • Read, interpret, and evaluate students' academic credentials. Make admissions/denial decisions per approved admissions policies.
  • Prepare application files for admission and transfer-credit assessment. Liaise with faculty & staff to ensure efficient application management.
  • Act as a resource on admission matters.
  • Manage all electronic and written correspondence to applicants throughout the admissions process.
  • Act as the front-line Admissions representative at targeted recruitment events that offer Admission on the Spot.
  • Assist on special projects when required.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Strengths

  • Comprehensive knowledge of MSO36.
  • Experience with Colleague UI or other database management systems, CRM Recruit (or other CRM systems).
  • Experience with document management software would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of admission terminology.
  • Experience working with high school and university students in a service-oriented environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a confidential setting.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement in dealing with sensitive or problem situations.
  • Professional written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
