The salary scale for Professional Support 1 is based on twelve steps that range from $54,535.61 - $76,241.01. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $65,469.87 annually.

This is a designated position open to members of the following groups:

Responsabilités

As the Project Coordinator, Pathways you will:

  • Be responsible for the project coordination of multiple new and existing program and project initiatives of externally funded learning programs.
  • Will assist the School of Access, Education and Language in meeting all goals related to the shipbuilding centre of excellence project as well as other initiatives that support educational equity.
  • Will be expected to work effectively with multiple stakeholders including partner organizations in industry, government, community, and other academic institutions.
  • Will work with various departments within the college including financial services, academic services, student services, marketing and communications, and the NSCC Foundation.
  • Rely on good working knowledge of project management techniques and professional skills to support several complex projects.
  • Will plan and arrange multiple activities such as meetings and events, online and in-person, on-campus and off-campus.
  • Will support projects and programs specifically designed for historically underrepresented communities including Black/African Nova Scotians, Indigenous, members of racially visible communities, women in underrepresented occupations, persons with disabilities, persons with minority sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in a related field such as business, community development or project management.
  • You have a minimum of three years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in project coordination. Experience with skilled trades or access programs would be considered an asset.
  • You have experience supporting programs within diverse communities.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and video conferencing software (Teams, Zoom). Knowledge of online records management such as PeopleSoft or LaMPSS would be considered an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience,

  • Experience working in an adult learning environment would be considered an asset.

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a two-year (part-time) adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
