Permanent Full-Time
Family Medicine, Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre/James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor/Gander

Definition of work: The successful candidate will provide consultation services in palliative care, symptom management and supportive care to the medical community and members of the interdisciplinary care team for the clients through in-patient consultations, outpatient clinic consultations, telephone consultations as well as home visitation. Outreach services will be provided to periphery communities. The physician must possess strong interpersonal, team and relationship building skills. The position includes clinical and administrative duties, including program and policy development. The physician will also engage in regional education and research efforts with the interdisciplinary team as required. The successful physician must work in a team-based, client-focused environment, and partner with all team members to improve employee and patient safety by integrating safe work practices, identifying risk and implementing improvements when required.

Required qualifications:
* Eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
* Certification with Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or College of Family Physicians of Canada
* Satisfy credentialing requirements of Central Health
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Preferred qualifications:
* Fellowship in Palliative Medicine and/or Board Certification with the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine

Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: $198,724-$215,097 annually
