Position: General Surgeon
Location: Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador.

Job Description:

Labrador-Grenfell Health is seeking a General Surgeons to join our multi-disciplinary health care team which provides integrated health care to this rural, yet well-developed region. This opportunity is available immediately.
The physician will be responsible for surgical duties, inpatient and outpatient care, on-call duties, as well as consultations with other physicians. This position may require travel within the region, which includes Labrador and the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland.
Hours of Work: 75 hours biweekly, plus on call responsibilities.
Qualification:
Applicants must be eligible for full or provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and satisfy credentialing requirements for Labrador-Grenfell Health. The criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca ). In accordance with Canadian Immigration regulations, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
Remuneration:
Salary for this position ranges from $238,147 - $316,714 plus on-call payments, as per guidelines set by the Memorandum of Agreement between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

General Information:

Existing staff and supports in our region include diagnostic imaging (including CT scan, mammography and ultrasound) and radiologist services, laboratory and pathologist services, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, anesthesia, ophthalmology, internal medicine, general surgery and orthopedics.
