Per Course Faculty Teaching Opportunity

Under the terms of the 16th Collective Agreement, and in accordance with Article 58.10(a)(ii), the University invites applications from all qualified individuals. Course Title: LANG 1113 - ASL and Deaf Studies
Contract Term: August 15, 2023 - December 30, 2023 (Fall)
Course Schedule: TBD - 3 hours/week, schedule TBD in consultation with the successful candidate. There may be the potential to teach this course using a hybrid learning approach, using a blend of in-person and synchronous and asynchronous online and/or remote delivery platforms.

Course Description: This is an introductory language course for students with little or no previous experience. Emphasis will be on developing basic conversational skills as well as linguistic and cultural awareness.

Qualifications: American Sign Language, ASL Interpreting, Deaf Studies. The successful candidate should be a member of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) or be able to demonstrate equivalent teaching or professional experience.
