Salary range: $46,954.67 to $53,313.63 annually
This is a remote work opportunity. You must have a suitable work from home office space and be within commuting distance to any of NSCC's physical campuses. The successful candidate will have all computing requirements (computer, monitors, etc.) provided to their home office.
Reporting to the Manager, Administrative Services, you will:
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the campus Business Office sufficient to develop recommendations, oversee assigned functions (e.g., accounts receivables, student financials, scheduling, data entries, etc.), resolve non-routine administrative problems, advise and determine applicable policy, procedures and requirements (e.g., recommend procedures to improve efficiency of assigned functions).
- Oversee the day-to-day operational workflow of the Business Office.
- Determine when issues require the attention of a higher-level manager and escalate those issues and their impact and suggest possible solutions.
- Complete payment processing, student loan processing, negotiating payment plans and deferrals, sponsorship coordination, invoicing, withdrawal letters, outstanding balance collections and respond to general student account queries.
- Provide daily direction and guidance to other Administrative support staff in the Business Office by determining work methods and procedures, provide training, and monitor activities to ensure timely and effective operations.
You may serve as a member of boards/committees as a representative of the Business Office.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in Business or Office Administration.
You have a minimum of three years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Experience within finance, accounting or a student services environment would be considered an asset.
Occupational experience using PeopleSoft Student, SAP or other account management software would be considered an asset.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail and have a strong, demonstratable knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and Office 365.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
Experience training others would be considered an asset.
Experience supporting and/or providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.
