MPE a Division of Englobe, is seeking a Project Manager-Civil Engineer to join our team in our Medicine Hat office. The successful candidate will use their technical and management skills to deliver a wide variety of water conveyance and other infrastructure projects.

Your Contribution

As a Project Manager-Civil Engineer you will work in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Engineering Team

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
  • Prepare and review reports, proposals, expressions of interest, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Oversee a multi-discipline design and construction team on projects
  • Provide leadership, team building and mentoring of junior staff members.
  • Develop business with existing and potential clients as well as partnering opportunities with other firms to expand MPE's business market.
  • Ensure applicable standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed during the design process.
  • Prepare and oversee cost management of engineering and construction budgets.
  • Coordinate design and construction tasks of multi-discipline teams.
  • Reinforces the development of standards related to our civil engineering drawings, ensuring best practices for project design and delivery, and when applicable sustainable building construction
  • Reviews drawings for interferences with other disciplines
  • Utilizes industry specific software and related technologies in design
  • Successfully develops relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel
  • Meets with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required
  • Other duties, as required.

Your Profile

  • Professional Engineer designation in Alberta (APEGA) or Professional Technologist designation through ASET.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering and 1-year additional experience in Project Management.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must be responsive and self-driven.
