Reporting to the Director, Communications, the Manager, Employee Communications & Connection is responsible for providing strategic communications counsel and services for the organization in a manner that supports and strengthens the NSLC brand and supports our culture, engagement, values, and initiatives, with a strong focus on our employees across the business, at Head Office, the Distribution Centre and Retail.

Responsabilités

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to create communications plans and targeted messaging to effectively and efficiently reach and engage with our internal audiences
  • Research, create, implement and manage multi-year strategic communication plans, measured and revised annually based on the Five-Year Strategic Plan and the annual business plan
  • Work with Business Unit leaders and managers to identify communication opportunities and requirements, as well as build communication expertise across the organization by providing resources and facilitating dialogue on effective and engaging communications
  • Develop and execute change plans, work-back plans, communication guidelines and content management plans
  • Oversee corporate messaging for internal communication events, including the coordination and role as lead of virtual or in person Town Hall Meetings
  • Research and evaluate channels of communication and lead separate initiatives to build employee engagement and leverage existing technology to enhance employee dialogue
  • Partner with the Information Technology team on researching best practices and opportunities for how technology can support internal communications efforts
  • Prepare key message documents, employee Q&A's, information sheets and briefing notes to support corporate communication initiatives
  • Champion and support HR in the management of employee engagement and recognition efforts
  • Develop an editorial grid and contribute to the content production for the Spirited Informer, the organization's internal newsletter
  • Manage internal communications related to Corporate Social Responsibility, the Distribution Centre, Head Office, our Retail Teams, organizational change, corporate and employee announcements, technology change, operational change and security-related issues
  • Research, interview, write, edit, design, proofread and distribute content for all corporate publications
  • Produce key messages and talking points

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships inside and outside the organization
  • Ensure corporate voice and brand standards are maintained
  • Manage budget, forecasting and project timelines for internal communication initiatives
  • Work effectively with print shops, designers and other suppliers
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC Values
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's responsibility mandate and workplace health and safety
  • Other related duties as assigned; travel, primarily in Nova Scotia, as required
Qualifications

As a qualified candidate, you will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations or Business Administration

  • At least 7 years' experience in a communication or a public relations role

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • Experience and training in organizational culture or employee engagement
  • Communications or marketing experience in a retail organization
  • Experience leading people
  • Digital communication experience

An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
