Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel's two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.

Responsibilities
- Receive steel structure via motorized cart or overhead crane system
- Transport steel from cart via overhead crane system onto bench rails
- May on occasion turn over small beams manually, others via overhead crane system
- Apply tape as required to designated sections of steel structure
- Paint steel structure using spray gun
- On a rare occasional uses paint brush to paint steel (involves forward bend)
- Use high high-powered compressor sprayers and metal blaster
Requirements
- Completion of secondary school
- 1 to 3 years' experience in industrial painting and blasting
