Responsibilities
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Move machinery as necessary to dismantle, repair and/or adjust as needed
- Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails
- Constructs foundation for machines
- Operates lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
- Remove, repair and install hydraulic components or systems
- Rigging and material handling
- Repair and maintenance of pneumatic components and tools
Requirements
- Formal millwright apprenticeship with certificate (443A license)
- Previous experience in the concrete and/or construction industry considered an asset
- Ability to handle very physically demanding work
- Must be willing to work long shifts and extra hours
- Must have excellent communication skills to ensure any urgent matters, machinery defects, malfunctions and any safety concerns are promptly communicated to peers and Supervisor
