Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) division and the Department of Health and Wellness. As well, EMC operates TeleHealth 811 Mental Health and Addictions for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health.
EMC delivers a high-quality pre-hospital care program and Telehealth service to Nova Scotians each and every day. We achieve this through the more than 1,400 employees who work with us including highly-trained paramedics, nurses, medical communication officers and support staff.

As the screening desk clerk, you will report to the Manager of Logistics and Material Management. In this role, you will screen all employees and visitors entering the building to prevent the spread of COVID 19 using the questions outlined by Public Health Directives.
- Ask specific screening questions to all employees or visitors entering the building.
- Check each persons temperature with the digital reader
- Record all required information from staff and visitors entering the building
- Scan daily records to supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Provide office access to various departments.
- Accept parcels from couriers and place in the lobby for collection.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School Student
- Customer Service experience is an asset
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills in dealing with people and working in groups.
- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Exercises a degree of discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to work varying hours between 5:30 AM and 9:30 PM
