Hi! We are a Canadian/Swedish family of 5 with 3 busy boys ages 9, 7, and 6 years. We are moving from Norway to Calgary this summer and we need a live-in caregiver (with the right to work in Canada) to help us with the kids and in the household. We are looking for somebody who is patient, caring, reliable, conscientious and hard working, who loves playing with children and takes initiative. The responsibilities for this position include receiving the kids after school, helping with cooking, tidying, laundry/ironing, cleaning and helping-out with the kids (homework, dinner, etc.). In addition, our 7 year-old son has mental and physical disabilities and the position includes providing support in his daily care and activities (for example: getting dressed, feeding, changing diaper, bathing, play/training). The position will include providing respite for our family on some weekends and other agreed days, which means that the work schedule will be variable at those times, so we are looking for someone who can be flexible. We would like a caregiver who has experience working with children and can provide references. Experience with special needs children is beneficial but an individual who is kind, open-minded and willing to learn will be equally considered.
