The student will assist the recreation department in:
Providing recreational/leisure programs (physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual) to our residents that enhance social interaction, promote physical health, preserve cognitive function, address spiritual and emotional needs and support individual leisure pursuits.
Keep a weekly record of the resident's participation via electronic charting.
Promote healthy living by taking residents for walks outside the facility.
Use a variety of social media avenues and working with emails to connect the residents with their love ones.
Research new and innovative ways to provide services to improve provide quality of life to the residents.
Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
Perform other related duties.
Experience working with seniors
Ability to facilitate leisure programs
Computer skills
Social media skills (able to use Facebook, Skype, etc.)
Team player with a positive attitude.
Applicant must be between 15 to 30 years old at the start of employment.
