Project Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Device Solutions Architect (Device Management Engineer) to assist with the design and development of the SaskNuclear Azure IT environment and related virtual devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows 365 virtual desktops, device compliance using Intune, and endpoint protection integration with Microsoft Defender. This role will ensure that all virtual desktops and devices are compliant with Intune policies and secured to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Windows 365 Virtual Desktop Setup and Management:
  Design, implement, and manage Windows 365 virtual desktops for a seamless user experience in the Azure environment.

• Device Compliance Using Intune:
  Ensure that all virtual desktops and devices are compliant with Intune policies, including security configurations, software deployment, and user access controls.

• Endpoint Protection Integration with Microsoft Defender:
  Implement and maintain endpoint protection solutions using Microsoft Defender to safeguard virtual desktops and devices from potential threats.

• Collaboration and Documentation:
  Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that virtual devices meet both technical and business requirements. Document best practices, configurations, and processes for ongoing support and future scalability.

Key Deliverables:

• Successful setup and management of Windows 365 virtual desktops within the Azure environment.
• Enforcement of device compliance policies through Microsoft Intune.
• Full integration and maintenance of endpoint protection solutions using Microsoft Defender.
• Documentation of all configurations and compliance policies for internal knowledge and auditing purposes.

Desired Education:

• Azure certifications related to Virtual Networks, including Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or related certifications.

Mandatory Experience:

• Proven experience with the setup and management of Windows 365 virtual desktops.
• Hands-on experience with device compliance using Microsoft Intune.
• Knowledge and experience in integrating endpoint protection solutions such as Microsoft Defender for securing devices in a virtualized environment.

Desired Experience:

• Strong understanding of Azure IT environments, virtual networks, and related technologies.
• Experience with security protocols and best practices for device management in a cloud-based environment.
• Previous work with compliance and security regulations specific to highly regulated industries is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Windows 365 virtual desktops.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Intune for device management, configuration, and compliance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and endpoint protection strategies.
• Strong communication skills to work with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to document processes and configurations in a clear and concise manner.
