Job Summary:
The Project Manager is a key leader responsible for driving cross-functional teams in the execution of multiple concurrent pharmaceutical development projects, from early formulation and process development through scale-up and commercial manufacturing. This role operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and requires strong expertise in pharmaceutical development to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Additionally:
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic and technical project milestones
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment with development and manufacturing goals
- Define project milestones, manage timelines, identify potential risks, and allocate resources using project management tools
- Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams by negotiating requirements and fostering a shared understanding of deliverables
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies to meet quality and timeline objectives
- Conduct regular project reviews, providing status updates to senior leadership
- Track and report key performance indicators related to project productivity, efficiency, and status
- Maintain departmental expense records and assist with client invoicing
- Organize and lead effective team meetings, ensuring clear objectives, agendas, and detailed meeting minutes
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent, transparent communication regarding project progress
- Align internal strategies with client expectations and identify opportunities to support business growth
- Collaborate on the development of proposals and quotations, fostering long-term client relationships
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving client satisfaction and uncovering growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance process efficiency and reduce cycle times
- Evaluate the feasibility and scope of new projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Mentor and develop junior project managers to strengthen internal project management capabilities
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business, or a related field
- PMP certification preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and regulatory standards in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in leading interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and team alignment skills
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- Experience in pharmaceutical analytical or process development is a plus
