SUMMER CASEWORKER ASSISTANT – THUNDER BAY, ON
Full-Time Summer Employment for 8 Weeks. Monday to Friday (days). $24.50/hourThis position will provide assistance to caseworkers throughout the Agency.
Duties may include:
  • Providing therapeutic support to children, youth, and caregivers in their homes; linking children, families, and youth to community resources; providing support to children and youth in care; supporting foster families.
  • Facilitating and supervising family time visits between children in the care of the Society and their families.

Qualifications:
  • Degree, diploma or current enrollment in a social work, social service or child and youth care post-secondary program, or related human services program.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop helping relationships with children, youth, and families.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, comfortable working with families in their homes.
  • Will contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion with a commitment to the elimination of disparity and disproportionality in service outcomes.

Job Requirements:
  • Valid “G” Driver's License and safe driving record (i.e., no more than two driving offences in the past three-year period, and/or no more than five demerit points).
  • Access to a personal vehicle and proof of one-million-dollar liability insurance coverage.
  • Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector deemed satisfactory to the Employer.

This position is generously supported through Canada Summer Jobs, an initiative under Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. Applicants for these positions must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
