Your role at GEI. To augment our exciting and continued growth, GEI is looking for a highly motived senior hydrogeologist to continue bringing value-based service to our clients. Our projects vary in size, type, scope and complexity and include both private and public clients. We are looking to continue to successfully deliver hydrogeological design/engineering solutions for our clients in the Ontario Market. Primary Responsibilities:- Direct preparation of technical reports, memos, and analysis following appropriate federal, provincial and municipal regulations and guidelines, including water balance studies, D-5-4 and D-5-5 studies, sub-watershed studies, construction dewatering studies, peer reviews, PTTW/EASR applications, groundwater and surface water monitoring, etc.
- Provide direction to junior staff on hydrogeological field engineering tasks such as field investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, well monitoring and in-situ testing, groundwater seepage meter, infiltration testing, analysis (site and feature based water balance, dewatering, hydraulic conductivity) and calculations.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and work plans for hydrogeological engineering projects (e.g. hydrogeological investigations, PTTW or EASR applications, groundwater monitoring and sampling, etc.).
- Collaborate with the geotechnical and environmental staff on joint projects, as well as collaborate with and support other GEI teams (e.g., environmental monitoring; environmental impact assessment; ecological restoration design; geostructural, municipal, etc.) on various projects.
- Prepare proposals and provide key contributions to regional marketing and business development activities, including development of client relationships.
- Promote health and safety in all aspects of work.
- Ability to spend time in the field, depending on experience level/project specifics.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in hydrogeological or related field.
- Ten (10) or more years of hydrogeological experience in Southern Ontario with significant experience in the primary responsibilities of this position.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario.
- Knowledge of relevant Ontario Regulations (e.g. OWRA, O. Reg. 387/04, O. Reg. 63/16, etc.), Conservation Authority and Municipal guidelines, etc., as well as industry standard practices and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent computer skills with technical analysis software, MS Office, and other computer applications.
- Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle.
