Job Overview:
As a Senior Data Scientist at Spring, you are a strategic thought partner and technical leader. You drive high-impact analytical and modeling initiatives that directly shape our products, strategy, and operations. You bring structure to ambiguous problem spaces, influence decision-making across the company, and help define best practices for how data science is done at Spring.
You lead cross-functional efforts that combine data exploration, experimentation, and machine learning. You balance technical depth with strong business judgment helping teams understand not only what the data says, but what it means and what to do about it.
You proactively identify areas where AI and advanced analytics can unlock step-change improvements. You explore and validate use cases for LLMs, generative models, and intelligent automation collaborating with product and ML teams to pilot and productionize solutions where appropriate.
You are a mentor and multiplier helping others grow through design reviews, feedback, and shared tooling. You influence data architecture decisions and help shape a culture where analytical rigor and business outcomes go hand in hand.
What youll do:
- Lead complex data science initiatives with business-critical outcomes.
- Build models, simulations, or experiments that inform strategic bets or optimize systems at scale.
- Explore and champion the application of AI/LLMs to accelerate product and operational insight.
- Partner with cross-functional leads to define KPIs, set strategy, and evaluate long-term impact.
- Mentor other data scientists and collaborate on improving team practices and tools.
- Influence data quality, architecture, and governance decisions across engineering and product.
What You Should Already Have:
- Strong track record of delivering high-impact data science work in a product-driven company.
- Deep expertise in statistics, experimentation, modeling, and data storytelling.
- Familiarity with AI/ML trends, including the use of foundation models or LLM APIs in business settings.
- Proven ability to lead projects through ambiguity, across teams, and with executive visibility.
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively to any audience.
- Passion for mentoring and elevating analytical thinking across the organization.
