Role

We are looking for a motivated Estimator to join our team. The role involves gathering project documents to estimate labor, material, and time requirements for accurate construction costs. The Estimator will produce clear estimates through careful analysis and reliable forecasts, while maintaining professional relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.

Responsibilities

Analyze project documents to identify labor, material, and time requirements.

Attend pre-bid site meetings and visits for accurate estimates.

Assess site logistics impacting construction, such as access, topography, drainage, and utilities.

Consider project risks related to procurement, contracts, scopes, methodology, cost, quality, and schedule.

Contact subtrades and maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors.

Prepare tender documents and obtain bids from suppliers and subcontractors.

Select suppliers and subcontractors based on qualifications and bid analysis.

Resolve cost discrepancies through information collection and analysis.

Prepare project cost summaries including all relevant expenses and fees.

Prepare turn-over packages for the Project Manager with all tender documents, quotes, and trade directories

Qualifications

Experience as a commercial construction Estimator or similar role for at least 5 years.

Familiarity with Smartbid considered an asset.

Familiarity with Bluebeam considered an asset.

Experienced with Office 365
