Senior Accountant
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting compliance with accounting standards.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports, ensuring compliance with Canadian Accounting Standards (ASPE/IFRS) and US GAAP. Provide detailed variance analysis on financial performance and assist with identifying key financial trends.
General Accounting:
Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date. Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, accruals ,and prepayments. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are posted and financial statements are finalized on time.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to prepare budgets and forecasts. Assist in monitoring budget vs. actual performance, providing detailed analysis and reports to management.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles (ASPE or IFRS) and US GAAP, with experience in a CPG or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Business Central) is a plus.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Salary: $70-90,000 base salary.
