We are currently seeking a Junior Electrical Drafter for our Airdrie, AB office. This position interfaces with the respective drafting coordinator or technical lead as well as the respective project engineer and provides progress updates to the respective drafting manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides drafting services by gathering information, making studies, computing calculations, and preparing detailed design and deliverables in accordance with project requirements
• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
• Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering providing layout skid packages including MCC building, cable tray and lighting layouts, and motor schematic drawings
• Investigates pertinent design factors, such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements
• Designs layouts and drawings keeping in mind clarity, completeness, conformity to codes, regulations, and standards, procedures, specifications, critical interface compatibility, productibility aspects, and dimensional accuracy of calculations
• Conforms to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and economy of fabrication
• Coordinates assigned engineering and design work with other project groups

Qualifications:

• A Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT)
• Entry level position - no previous work experience is required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010 and higher
• Fabrication shop designing experience is an asset
• Experience with an EPC work environment is an asset
• Experience with 3D Cadworx, 2D Acad, and AutoDesk programs including AutoCAD and Inventor is an asset
• Familiarity with CEC, industry regulations, and standards
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
