We are currently looking for a Mechanical Manager to join our growing company.

The Mechanical Manager reports directly to an Associate Director with extensive experience in our Healthcare Division and works with several team members who have a strong base of knowledge and industry experience.
HH Angus has been collaborating with building owners, architects, and contractors for many years to deliver projects in Vancouver and across the province. Completed projects include Royal Inland Hospital Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Patient Care Tower, Lions Gate Hospital power plant replacement, Penticton Regional Hospital David Kampe Tower Phase I, commissioning of the TELUS Kamloops Data Centre, Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care Centre and Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa. Current major projects include the decarbonization of Creative Energy's downtown Vancouver district energy steam plant, compliance engineering for Royal Columbian Hospital Phases 2 and 3, the new Burrard Exchange office tower at Bental Centre and ongoing mission critical facilities work for Telus.

Our Healthcare Division works on a variety of healthcare facility projects, including public-private partnership (PPP or P3), acute care, long-term care, mental health, and rehabilitation hospitals. In this role, you will apply your technical engineering and project management skills to add value to our clients and individuals who rely on healthcare facilities for their well-being. You will have the opportunity to be involved with complex healthcare projects in BC as well as across Canada. For example, HH Angus is the lead engineering firm for the Cowichan District Hospital Redevelopment which is aiming to be the first all electric hospital in BC and first CaGBC Net Zero hospital in Canada.

Responsibilities:
- Leads, manages, and mentors a team of engineers, designers, CAD staff, and project managers to deliver projects on a timely basis
- Provides clear communication on team skillset, resourcing and development to Senior Manager and Associate Director
- Primarily responsible for managing, retaining, and developing staff members
- Identifies and staffs projects, either directly or through Project Managers
- Acts as a primary relationship manager for a select group of clients
- Monitors status of projects through Project Managers
- Engages in performance management cycle for direct reports
- Responsible for project billings and expenses of team with manager review and approval
- Responsible for financial performance of the projects that they invoice for
- Approves time sheets of team members
- Actively participates in divisional operations meeting
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng with EGBC
- 10 + years engineering consulting experience
- Strong relationship builder, able to resolve conflicts and foster positive team environment
- Experience developing and supporting team members with direct experience mentoring others to enhance growth and performance.
- Healthcare project experience an asset
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Good accuracy and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Passionate about buildings and the built environment
The expected salary for this role is between $100,000 to $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness.
