Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:Take a leading role in the design and development of mechanical building systems and components, producing complete drawing sets for final engineering review.
Contribute to the detailed design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection), including 3D modeling where required.
Collaborate effectively with engineers and other design professionals to ensure coordinated project delivery.
Support engineering tasks such as system evaluations, technical analysis, and implementation of mechanical designs.
Address construction-phase issues in partnership with the design team and contractors.
Share and receive technical knowledge with engineers, designers, technologists, and other project contributors.
Participate in site visits as needed to support project progress and resolve field-related concerns.
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by Mechanical Leads or the Mechanical Division Manager.
8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, preferably within commercial and multi-unit residential building sectors.
Diploma in Mechanical Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related technical program.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a history of overcoming challenges and meeting project goals.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.
Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining efficiency and quality.
Exceptional attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to design and documentation.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also being a strong team player in collaborative settings.
Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and fast-paced project requirements.
Able to prioritize and balance concurrent tasks without compromising deadlines or output quality.
Passionate about continuous improvement, with a focus on professional and personal development.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit experience is considered an asset.
