As part of our expansion, we are seeking an Atlassian Engineer to join our IT/Engineering team and help optimize and support our suite of Atlassian tools.

Role Overview:

The Atlassian Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing support of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) to meet the needs of the organization. This position involves ensuring the tools are performing optimally, integrating them with other systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing end-user support.

Job Duties:

Atlassian Tool Management:
Administer, configure, and maintain Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.), ensuring their optimal performance and availability.

Customization & Configuration:
Design and implement customized workflows, schemes, and permission settings to align with business processes. Develop custom solutions using Atlassian APIs and scripting languages.

Integration:
Integrate Atlassian products with other enterprise tools (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Salesforce, etc.) using APIs, plugins, and third-party apps.

User Support:
Provide technical support to end-users, assisting with troubleshooting, configuration, and best practices for using Atlassian tools.

System Optimization & Upgrades:
Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to Atlassian tools, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and secure.

Automation & Scripting:
Develop automation scripts using Jira automation, scripting languages like Groovy or Python, and Jira REST API for workflow efficiency and process improvements.

Training & Documentation:
Create and maintain user guides, documentation, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for end-users and administrators on best practices.

Security & Permissions:
Ensure appropriate security measures are in place, including user role management, permissions, and access control to sensitive data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

• • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.).
  • Experience with Atlassian Cloud and Server/Datacenter environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Groovy, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and Atlassian REST APIs.

Technical Skills:

• • Strong knowledge of Jira administration, workflow design, permissions, and configuration.
  • Experience with integrations (e.g., using webhooks, APIs, plugins).
  • Proficiency in version control systems, such as Git, and experience with Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly Bamboo or Jenkins, is a plus.

Problem Solving:

• • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Ability to develop solutions that meet both technical and business needs.

Communication:

• • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
    
  • Comfortable training users and documenting procedures.
    

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Education:

• Master's degree in a related field or additional certifications in Atlassian tools, IT administration, or cloud technologies.
  

Certifications (Preferred):

• Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-100) or similar certifications.
  
• ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or related certifications are a plus.
