* Stoney Creek, ON * Full-time permanent role, Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm + overtime available * $40 - $50 per hour, commensurate with experience + benefits * Full-time permanent position Are you an experienced controls system integrator, seeking an opportunity to work on custom projects from start to finish, working with a successful and growing team? We're a full turn-key systems integrator, who take care of everything from the design, programming, fabrication and commissioning of industrial electrical control systems, as well as providing maintenance monitoring systems fully equipped with fault alarms and production report generation capabilities using the latest state-of-the-art technology and software. We work across a variety of industries, including automotive, packaging, and water treatment. As our new Controls Systems Integrator, you'll report to the Operations Manager. You'll join our close-knit team and will be responsible for working both in the office and on site with customers to determine and understand their operation needs and wants. You'll work both independently and as part of a team to perform project related tasks. We create custom control panels for our clients, which means that you'll get to enjoy tons of project variety in your daily work, while creating long-term authentic client relationships that result in our clients getting the highest quality solutions. Specifically, you will: * Review Projects including quotes, job specifications and resolve any quote to job specifications differences * System Architecture including investigating non-standard material and control panel power requirements/distribution * Engineering Requirements that include allocating unit specific BOMs; reviewing specifications and standard practices (e.g.: internal hardwired and logic standards, general specifications, scope of work) * Design Requirements that include establishing non-standard designs, generating system map layouts, generating a sequence of operations, reviewing cycle time studies and dimension switch layouts, generation of design packages, design logic, enter logic, and the design of Smart Displays (Screens, PLC Logic and Entering descriptions) * Material responsibilities that include advance material order, specifying mod box material, specifying panel material, and writing panel material BOMs * Field duties and responsibilities that include assisting in installation, debugging with no additional support, launch and standby, AsBuilts, gather baseline data per Specifications, complete Quality Reports and Unit Clean-up Sheets, and submit AsBuilt Drawings to Project Engineer As an experienced member of our integration team, you'll have the opportunity to share your knowledge with us and provide mentorship to more junior team members. Qualifications * 5-10 years of experience in the electrical controls industry * Minimum 3-5 years' experience in design, implementation and testing of machine control systems and large-scale automation * Must have experience coordinating the design, implementation, testing and validating of machinery and/or manufacturing systems * Experience with proven trouble-shooting skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team with engineers and technical specialists of varied disciplines and proficiency levels * Excellent command of the English language, report writing skills using common computer software packages (Word, Excel, Corel Draw) as employees of all levels interface directly with the customer. Experience with engineering documentation systems in an ISO 9001 environment would be an asset * B.Sc. in Electrical, Software or Systems Engineering / Engineering Technologist Diploma * Must have a working knowledge of some object-oriented design and programming with control systems and controls interface (i.e. PLC's - Allen-Bradley Logix and/or Siemens S7 platforms, RS View, DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet) * Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time without difficulty to customer sites within Canada, Mexico and the USA How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
