Brannon Steel is looking for an entry-level Accounting Assistant to support existing staff and help meet growing business demands. You'll work closely with your colleagues to ensure the department runs smoothly, transparently and efficiently to help us maintain our position as an industry leader.

Starting salary: $45,000 to $50,000 per year.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records.
  • Participate in annual audits.
  • Perform inventory receiving and reconciliation.
  • Provide relief at Reception to cover breaks including directing calls and greeting visitors.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Accounting - Business Administration, Finance or similar field.
  • Computer-proficient with excellent knowledge of MS Office including Excel.
  • Familiar with ERP and accounting software such as Microsoft NAV and Business Central.
  • Excellent organizing abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Superb numeracy, mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong business communication skills.
  • Bondable and able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
