Title: Telecommunications Cabling Engineer

We're looking for a skilled Telecommunications Cabling Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of structured cabling projects in commercial or enterprise environments. The ideal candidate has experience overseeing low-voltage systems, working closely with architectural, electrical, and HVAC teams, and managing vendors from design through construction.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement structured cabling systems for data, voice, fiber, AV, IP security, nurse call, and other low-voltage applications
Work closely with architectural and engineering teams to coordinate project requirements
Produce and review detailed AutoCAD drawings, RFPs, and Division 27 specifications
Evaluate and select low-voltage contractors, manage bid leveling and vendor pricing
Act as the main point of contact for on-site construction management and cabling inspections
Ensure all installations meet design standards and industry best practices
Coordinate with electrical and HVAC engineers for cooling and power planning in MDF/IDF rooms
Write and review structured cabling documentation, installation guides, and punch lists
Train and oversee junior team members in cabling design and standards
Requirements:
Experience in structured cabling infrastructure design and implementation
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools (Visio, Excel, Word)
Familiarity with low-voltage systems: data/fiber cabling, IP security, AV, etc.
Understanding of BICSI standards and cabling certifications like RCDD (preferred)
Project management experience on construction or renovation projects
Strong ability to work with vendors, contractors, and client teams
Attention to detail in spec writing, drawing review, and site coordination
