CFI will require the services of a Project Manager (PM) to manage all project activities of the renewal of the CFI's CAMS system (CUBE project). In order to maintain access to existing on-line services and to reduce risk, the renewal strategy is expected to follow a modular approach that allows integration with functionality within our existing CAMS system. As new funds and functionality become available in CUBE (the renewed system) their counterparts will be retired within the existing CAMS system.
The Project Manager is directly responsible to the Executive Sponsor (at the VP level) and to the Director of Information Systems, for all project activities and has overall responsibility for the conduct and coordination of the project.Deliverables
The Project Manager will:
1. Ensure preparation of project charter, scope definition, project plans and budget, risk management plan, and other planning deliverables required in support of the project implementation approval.
2. On project approval (expected Q1 2026), ensure full implementation of CFI's award management solution deliverables as specified in the Project Charter and associated planning deliverables.
3. Develop and provide project tracking and monitoring of the project plan and status updates as required.
4. Prepare project artefacts, background supporting documentation and record of decisions.
5. Provide oral briefings on an ongoing basis to apprise CFI's executive sponsor, project director, business owners and IT management as to project status, challenges, risks and performance.
6. Ensure the development and testing of a comprehensive range of scenarios for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all business units and system modules.
7. Develop and execute implementation plans to ensure any/all newly developed or implemented modules are properly supported during and after implementation through knowledge transfer to CFI staff.
8. Ensure the roles and responsibilities of the various support personnel are identified and that they are properly trained to accept the handover of the solutions and appropriate support processes and documentation upon delivery of the solutions outlined in the scope.
9. Ensure the development and delivery of all required training to CFI staff and the external research community.
10. Ensure the development and delivery of a communication strategy to CFI staff and the external research community.
11. Ensure the project is successfully delivered to stakeholders' expectations.
** Not all deliverables will be expected in the Year 1 planning and architecture phase, however they are included here in the event of continuation to subsequent years under this contract.Evaluation
