THE ROLE

Are you a Controller that is ready to take the financial helm of a dynamic, growing company? Our client, a market leader in their field, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join their executive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and hands-on Controller to take ownership of the accounting function and partner directly with the President, playing a key role in both financial oversight and company-wide decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all financial reporting and accounting functions, ensuring timely, accurate, and transparent reporting.
  • Own the annual budget process, partnering with department heads to assess needs and translate them into a comprehensive and strategic budget.
  • Evaluate and strengthen the internal control environment, proposing and implementing improvements.
  • Take full leadership of the accounting, financial planning & analysis, HR, and IT teams.
  • Contribute as a key member of the senior management team, offering insights and participating in high-level business decisions.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external stakeholders including banking partners, legal advisors, auditors, and accountants.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree and CPA designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop/Online is an asset.
  • Bonus points for programming knowledge in SQL queries and VBA.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
