We're in search of an experienced Grading Foreman to provide onsite support, coordination, and leadership on our paving and road building construction projects. Your tasks will include: * Day to day coordination of your assigned grading crew (typically 4-5 people/crew) * Directing and supervising crew labour and tasks * Coordinating with supervisors and project managers to establish scope of projects and providing input for job site scheduling * Overseeing job site/project progress, making sure we are on track to meet project timelines and estimates * Coordinating trucking requirements with dispatch * Coordinating with material and equipment suppliers and ensuring working order of all equipment on site * Completing and submitting daily safety protocol paperwork * Keeping track of crew labour hours and reporting timekeeping paperwork to payroll Working with Capital Paving When it comes to finding a great company to work for, you won't do any better than Capital Paving. You will work outdoors, and will be required to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. In addition to the physical requirements, here's what we're looking for: * 3+ years' experience working as a civil construction worker with general road building/grading experience (e.g. parking lots, highways) * Excavation experience * Experience using grading/excavation equipment and tools * Experience working in a foreman/lead role, including experience directing crew tasks/labour, and overseeing project progress * Strong understanding and working knowledge of construction health and safety standards * Experience completing safety protocol paperwork * Experience managing crew timekeeping for payroll purposes And here's what would be a plus: * MTO experience * Working knowledge of GPS control system * High school diploma or equivalent * First aid certificate and/or training You're a goal-oriented leader, who knows how to communicate effectively with your crew and other project stakeholders.
