Your role at GEI. This role will involve leading and delivering a number of asset management projects, in coordination with the larger asset management team. It will provide an opportunity to be exposed to and to learn asset management best practices from our industry-leading team of asset management experts. The candidate is expected to be able to lead consulting projects and deliver work according to the project work plan, under the supervision of one or more senior asset management staff. - Business process mapping
- Capital and operating budget analysis
- The development of risk management strategies
- The development of levels of service strategies
- The development of lifecycle management strategies
- Asset management technology/software implementations.
- Asset inventory (data) creation and management
- Asset data analysis
- Asset needs forecasting
- Financial analysis and strategies
- The candidate will be able to lead workshops and other meetings with client stakeholders to support asset management implementations and other project work.
- Contribute to the advancement of the asset management team and practice, by assisting in the development of new asset management tools, approaches, and concepts to support project work.
- Develop or lead the development of deliverables related to the abovementioned subjects, including tools, frameworks, data visualizations and written reports.
- The candidate's role on various projects is likely to be flexible. We offer the ability to work in various roles, depending on the project need. The candidate may be in a technical support position at times, or also in an advisory position, depending on the project need and required expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline including but not limited to, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, data analysis, mathematics/statistics or other relevant education.
- Professional designation (P.Eng. or C.E.T.) or eligibility to apply will be considered an asset but is not a requirement.
- 5 to 10 years' experience related to the duties listed above in a municipal or consulting environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 5 years' experience in a project management role or leading the development of deliverables in asset management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with stakeholders on a variety of issues.
- Strong writing capabilities, including technical reports, work plans, business cases and proposals.
- Strong knowledge of asset lifecycles, condition assessment, inspection, rehabilitation, and reconstruction techniques for linear and vertical infrastructure networks (such as transportation, water and wastewater, and facilities).
- Knowledge of and relevant working experience with computerized maintenance/work order management systems, Geographic Information Systems and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge or experience in computer programming (Python and/or SQL) will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of asset management best practices including the ISO 55000 series of standards, International Infrastructure Management Manual and others.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Infrastructure Asset Management industry, including Ontario Regulation 588/17.
- Specific certifications or diplomas in asset management and/or project management would be considered an asset.
