Technical Support Analyst-
We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Analyst with solid SQL queries experience to join our team and support our core Wealth Management systems, including the Book of Record and Trading Systems applications. In this role, you'll troubleshoot technical issues, manage support tickets, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help maintain the stability and performance of critical financial platforms. This is a rewarding hybrid role- 3 days to work from downtown Toronto office.
Screening Questions:
1) Any experience working with Jira or Confluence (for team documentation) including usage at an Administration level
(e.g. creating automation like auto closing tickets under a certain status after a specific period of time, giving access to sites to specific users, setting up sites for use by a team)
2) Any experience using SQL Server and have you reviewed an execution plan? explain what you would use the execution plan for.
3) Any experience working with Powershell scripts, Windows Batch scripting or Python experience? Provide an example.
4) Any experience working with ticketing systems such as Service Now or JIRA? Are you familiar with creating dashboards from those tools?
5) Do you do any stock trading? or mutual fund trading? If yes, what do you look for when purchasing these investments?
6) Have you been involved in deploying back end code patches to test and/or production? If yes, what steps do you typically follow for a code deployment to ensure it was successful?
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support for Wealth systems
Troubleshoot application, integration, and database-related issues
Manage and resolve incident tickets using ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar tools
Monitor system performance and implement preventative solutions
Assist in deploying system patches and data fixes
Create and maintain user documentation and support materials
Collaborate with business, development, and infrastructure teams
Deliver regular reports on system health and ticket metrics
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
3+ years of technical support experience, preferably in Banking/financial or wealth management systems
Proficient in writing SQL queries, upgrade stored procedures :
Support ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA)
Microsoft SQL Server or similar query tools a must
Troubleshooting complex application, server, and database issues
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience with incident management and root cause analysis
Comfortable working collaboratively across teams
Maintain and update technical documentation including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles and best practices in MS OneNote and/or Confluence.
What You'll Do
Provide day-to-day level 1 support for the Wealth Book of Record system and trading systems applications
Write SQL Queries , upgrade stored procedures, deploy systems patches, create reports
Troubleshoot application, integration, and database issues to minimize downtime
Manage and resolve support tickets using ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar platforms
Work closely with technical and business teams to deploy system patches and fix bugs
Maintain support documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting resources
Preferred QualificationsBackground in wealth management, banking, or financial services
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
Familiarity with C#.net development , Agile or other project management frameworks
