Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including those in the development phase.
- Handle property administration tasks, such as contract management, budgeting, and tracking actual costs.
- Process and enter utility invoices for properties.
- Oversee corporate credit card usage.
- Manage accounting and reporting for US-based Airbnb properties, including monthly reporting and property/maintenance management (e.g., cleaner checks).
- Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including bank reconciliations and managing accounts payable/receivable.
- Administer lease agreements, including reading and interpreting lease terms, rental schedules, tenant recoveries, and additional rent calculations.
- Manage bills from service providers.
- 2-5 years of experience in a real estate accounting role, with exposure to both property and corporate accounting.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles, specifically within a commercial real estate context.
- Experience managing properties in the development phase, including contract management, budgeting, and tracking actual costs.
- Ability to read and interpret commercial lease agreements, including rental schedules, tenant recoveries, and additional rent calculations.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Premier Jonas is an asset.
- Strong self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently.
