This is an onsite role in Downtown Toronto.
As the Senior Accountant, you'll be a key member of a small, high-performing finance team and report directly to the Director of Financial Reporting. You'll play a hands-on role in managing full-cycle accounting for a publicly traded company in the junior mining sector.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Reviewing AP transactions and payments prepared by the AP Clerk
- Preparing journal entries for fixed assets, prepaids, payroll, investments, and other key accounts
- Reviewing equity schedules (stock options, warrants, share capital) and preparing related journal entries and disclosure schedules
- Preparing and filing GST/HST returns
- Performing budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Assisting with quarterly reviews and year-end audit requests
- Drafting ad hoc financial reports as requested
- Supporting the transition to SAP and identifying process improvement opportunities

TMGMS
- Canadian CPA designation required
- 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public company experience is a must—either in industry or from audit/advisory roles with public company clients
- Prior exposure to Mining, Biotech, Software, Oil & Gas Exploration, or Renewable Energy sectors strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Experience with stock-based compensation, flow-through shares (FTS) and memo writing experience is a strong asset
- Working knowledge of SAP is a plus (willing to train)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills
- Comfortable working independently in a high-accountability, fast-paced environment
