Position Summary
As the Cost Accountant, you will hold a key leadership role within the finance department and serve as a strategic partner on the plant leadership team. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will collaborate closely with Operations leadership to monitor plant performance, deliver financial insights, and support data-driven decision-making aimed at achieving best-in-class operational results. You will also play an integral role in the successful implementation of the JDE system.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze manufacturing and operational costs, variances, and margins vs budget
- Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy in cost reporting
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations to optimize efficiency
- Collaborate with operations, production, and procurement teams to understand cost drivers.
- Maintain and improve standard costing systems
- Prepare weekly operational cost forecasts
- Support the month-end and year-end close process with accurate cost accounting data and reports
- Assist in budget preparation by providing input on cost and plant overhead assumptions
- Optimize usage of the JD Edwards Enterprise One ERP system for manufacturing.
Implementation in 2026.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts associated with internal controls, processes, and procedures
- Emphasis on internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or a professional accounting designation
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting in manufacturing environment
- Experience with inventory management and tracking, product costing and variance analysis
- Strong knowledge with ERP systems
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
