Position: High Voltage Substation Designer

Job Description and Summary:
RCMT Energy Services is seeking to hire an experienced Designer of High Voltage Substation to join its team in Mississauga, ON Canada.
The successful candidate will utilize a variety of 3D CADD software's in the design of High Voltage substation, in accordance with applicable standards and technical specifications.
Projects may include travel to client sites as needed to perform job functions at existing facilities such as, but not limited to, acquiring field data necessary to prepare design.
Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Physical Substation Layout design (AIS/GIS), including preparation of layouts, elevation views, installation details, grounding, lighting, cable trays, raceways, trenches, duct banks, and conduit layout drawings in accordance with standards and technical specifications.
• Prepare conceptual, bid, construction design packages which include detailed plans, drawings, and material lists.
• Participate in project coordination with the electrical, civil/structural, and architectural disciplines.
• Assist assigned engineers and designers in the resolution of technical engineering and design challenges.
• Create designs for systems in existing and new facilities.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Engineering or scientific field from accredited college or university, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience as a Drafter/Designer or equivalent and demonstrated aptitude for performing work at a Designer level.
• Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D, MicroStation, Revit, Inventor
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and respond rapidly to changing demands.
• Results oriented and takes ownership of assigned tasks, strong multi-tasker and team player.
• Must have the ability to be flexible and work with competing priorities.
• To be Canadian Permanent Resident or to hold a valid work permit for work in Canada.

Desirable, But Not Required:

• Inter-disciplinary Design Experience
• Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modelling).
