Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Location: Port Carling, ON
Job Type: Contract
Hourly: $22.00-$30.00/hr

Our client in Port Carling, ON is actively looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their team.
Position Description:
  • Accounts Payable Document Management
  • Review and accept invoices into Data Entry from Document Acceptance
  • Enter invoice details if they are not automatically captured by OCR and distribute via routing to PMs, Accountant or other approvers
  • Set up new vendors in Sage
  • Provide backup for Document Review
  • Post invoices in Sage (transfers into WIP)
  • Collaborate on improving the efficiency of AP workflow
  • Provide backup for VP Systems for setting up cost codes and categories
  • Accounts Payable (Overhead and monthly pay vendors)
  • Manage emails coming into A/P email address
  • Code and select routing for overhead invoices in HH2
  • Enter invoices into Sage
  • Circulate project payable lists to PMs
  • Check and enter subtrade payroll invoices in Sage
  • Prepare cheque runs, record online payments
  • Prepare monthly payments to key vendors
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Act as a key point of contact with vendors in an efficient and courteous manner
  • Prepare vendor credit applications
  • Maintain calendar of due dates for monthly overhead invoices
  • Accounts Payable Visa Credit Card Reconciliation
  • reconcile monthly Visa credit card statements
  • Accounts Receivable
  • report deposits to management
  • record cash application in Sage
  • follow up on outstanding accounts (including notifying the PM and sending statements to customers)
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ethical, respectful, responsible and accountable
  • College diploma or university degree in Business with an Accounting major
  • 2-3 yrs A/R and A/P experience
  • Proficient with MS Outlook and Excel
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to enter and report information accurately
  • Ability to work in an organized manner
  • Ability to innovate and learn new skills
  • Experience with Sage and/or HH2 software an asset
