SPECIFICATIONS WRITER
Industry: Light Industrial, Agricultural & Commercial Projects
Location: Remote (anywhere in Canada)Compensation: $65,000 - 100,000
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
OUr Client, a reputatble design and architecture firm is looking for a Specifications Writer to support a variety of light industrial, agricultural, and commercial projects. This role focuses on maintaining consistent, high-quality specifications, mentoring teams, and supporting construction documentation from early design through to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain standardized, up-to-date specifications.
• Guide project teams through specification development across all phases.
• Integrate sustainable materials and maintain a vetted materials list.
• Support tendering, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
• Maintain the material library and liaise with vendors to stay informed on product innovations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3–5 years of experience in specification writing.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction materials.
• Experience with light industrial, agricultural, and/or commercial projects preferred.
• Understanding of sustainable design practices.
• Familiarity with tendering and contract admin processes.
• CSC or CSI membership is a plus.
• Proficiency in BIM/specification software is an asset.
