A Shift Maintenance Mechanic Millwright position has become available in the Aldershot Plant. This is a 12- hour continental (day / night) shift position.

Pay Rate

Class 1 $35.34 (Reviewable after 3 months)

Class 2 $37.38

Class 3 $39.14 (Industrial Mechanic Millwright Red Seal 433A) Proof of Qualification Required!

DUTIES

1. You will use your experience of repairs and troubleshooting of all mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics and conveying systems.
2. You will have a good knowledge of reading blueprints, schematics, and welding procedures.
3. Assist and work alongside all members of the Production Department.
4. You will assist the Production Department with job changes.
5. Any parts that have been removed or replaced will be tagged for repair “in house” or contracted out.
6. The plant, air, gas, and water system will require maintenance. This will require basic pipefitting and plumbing skills.
7. As the Shift Mechanic you will provide your own hand tools (Metric/Standard) to complete any repairs.
8. You will be required to fix and replace any control components that will ensure 100% production through the kilns and dryers.
9. Lubricates Kiln Car wheels and assists on bearing or wheel changes.
10. Set-up and troubleshooting plant equipment.
11. Monitors Dust Collector system.
12. Actively supports other crewmembers, when required.
13. Reports Maintenance requests to the Supervisor and/or Lead Hands
14. Actively participates in maintenance shutdowns scheduled or unscheduled overtime will be required at times.
15. Work in a safe and efficiently manner, according to company policies.
16. 5S – Sort, store, shine, standardize & sustain.

*And any other duties as required by Maintenance Superintendent, Maintenance Lead Hand, or Production Supervisor, when the need arises.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

4 plus years Maintenance Mechanic experience.

Certified Millwright qualifications would be an asset.

Conveying, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical, Pipefitting, Welding and Plumbing skills.

An understanding of PLC and VFD System.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma / Maintenance Trade Courses.
