Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., a leading distributor of electrical supplies and services, is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Director of Treasury and Tax. This senior leadership role is critical to the organization's financial strategy and will involve overseeing the treasury and tax functions while ensuring alignment with the Group's objectives. Position Overview: The Director of Treasury and Tax will be responsible for managing the company's treasury operations, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other senior executives to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives. This role will also involve leading a team of four professionals. Key Responsibilities: Treasury Management * Develop and implement comprehensive treasury strategies to optimize cash management, liquidity, and funding, ensuring alignment with Group treasury policies and practices. * Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure financing, negotiate terms, and optimize banking services, including credit facilities and cash management solutions. * Lead the company's securitization program, overseeing the structuring, execution, and ongoing management of securitized assets to enhance liquidity and financial flexibility. * Cash Management and Forecasting: Design and implement processes for effective cash flow management across business units, oversee banking relationships, and create detailed cash forecasting models to ensure liquidity and provide insights for senior management. * Financing and Risk Management: Analyze and recommend financing strategies, manage the securitization program, and identify financial risks while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements through regular assessments and audits. Tax Strategy and Compliance * Lead the development and execution of the company's tax strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and compliance with provincial and federal tax regulations. * Oversee tax compliance and reporting, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and timely submission of tax filings. * Manage tax audits and litigations, ensuring the company's rights and interests are properly asserted and defended * Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and enhance cash flow, while staying current on tax legislation and regulatory changes. M&A: Lead the structuring and financing of M&A transactions, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and financial goals. Insurance Management: Oversee the company's insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage for all business operations and compliance with regulatory requirements and Group policies. * Provide insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning, preparing and presenting reports to the CFO and other stakeholders. * Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing treasury and tax team, establishing clear goals and performance metrics while conducting regular reviews to support professional growth and foster a culture of excellence. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive financial management and compliance, while engaging with Group treasury and finance teams and external advisors. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred. * CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable. * A minimum of 20 years of experience in treasury and tax management, with a proven track record in a senior leadership role. * Strong knowledge of financial markets, cash management, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. * Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
