What you'll be doing: Your goal in this position is to help us achieve this growth by building our sales capacity, and by meeting and exceeding your objectives. You're ready and willing to embrace the challenge of the industry, understanding the fundamental difference between selling an intangible versus an item off a store shelf. We want someone who is always working to perfect their craft, and who wants to take advantage of every training opportunity or program to do so. On a practical level you will be responsible for: * Assessing client needs and recommending employee benefits, life and living benefits, and assisting clients in planning and implementation of product solutions * Interacting with and educating potential and existing clients in the products that best suit their needs * Researching and sourcing various products and carriers to find the most suitable products for client needs * Sourcing and prospecting potential customers and creating interest in our firm and our products * Cross-selling and promoting additional HMA products (e.g. life/living benefits, pension, GRSP etc.) * Secure sales of the above noted products by prospecting, setting appointments, identifying client pain and budget, propose solutions, obtain commitment and complete applications with payment * Attend bi-weekly Sales Meeting and all other company and team meetings as identified * Report your prospecting progress to your Sales Manager weekly or bi-weekly * Satisfy continuing education requirements annually for industry licensing * Embrace and utilize CRM (Hubspot) or any other computer-based program (TAM, Excel, etc.) to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, new information is added and accurate call/visit logs are entered * If a Chamber of Commerce Block is assigned, attend the various Chambers of Commerce functions within the assigned territory and become the ‘known' benefits advisor within those organizations Working @ HMA The BENEFITS People This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our bright and cheerful Whitby office. You will spend most of your time out in the community, talking to potential and existing clients, but will always have a supportive base to return to. You will work Monday to Friday, and will receive a competitive compensation, commensurate with experience and performance. What makes you an ideal candidate: * Life/A&S license required * 1+ year in licensed sales role with proven results * Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle * Experience working with CRM software (HubSpot experience is an asset) * Experience presenting with exceptional communication of both verbal and written * Advanced level proficiency with personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) * Progressive experience in a group benefits insurance/consulting environment is an asset * Superior relationship development and communication skills and natural social comfort * Willingness to embrace the organization's core values * Strong ability to self-motivate and achieve set goals * Experience and ability to analyze and interpret data How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete candidate – not just a resume.
