About the Role: Our client, a leading commercial flooring company, is seeking an experienced Business Development & Account Manager to drive specification sales and strengthen relationships within Toronto's Architect & Design (A&D) community. This Canadian owned and operated company is focused on commercial flooring solutions - this role will focus on carpet solutions, working closely with designers, architects, and end users to secure product specifications, manage key accounts, and grow market share.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with architects, designers, and specifiers to position our client's products as the preferred choice.
- Drive product adoption by influencing project specifications and working closely with design and construction teams.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities within the corporate, hospitality, education, and institutional sectors to expand market reach.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including estimators, project managers, and installation teams, to deliver seamless project execution.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and A&D presentations to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
- Proven experience in a business development or account management role within the commercial flooring, interior finishes, or building materials industry.
- Established network within the Toronto A&D community, with a strong ability to influence design decisions.
- Experience in specification sales, particularly with commercial carpet or other flooring solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage with architects, designers, and key decision-makers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and specifications through long sales cycles.
