Job Duties:
1. Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers who assemble, fabricate, inspect, and test electronic and electromechanical assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and components, including welding and cutting machines, transformers, and related equipment.
2. Oversee the assembly, testing, repair, and troubleshooting of prototype machines, transformers, and welding and cutting machines to ensure product quality and functionality.
3. Establish methods to meet production schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments to maximize productivity and efficiency.
4. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality by analyzing workflow and implementing best practices.
5. Resolve work problems by identifying issues, implementing corrective actions, and recommending long-term solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
6. Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies, and recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
7. Ensure safety rules and regulations are strictly followed during all operations to maintain a safe working environment.
8. Requisition materials, equipment, and supplies to support continuous production and maintenance operations.
9. Prepare and submit production reports, progress updates, and other required documentation for management review.
10. Set up machines and equipment, performing adjustments and maintenance as necessary to ensure optimal performance and safety.
11. Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of related helpers and laborers to ensure efficient operation and workload management.
Employment Requirements
1. Education:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent degree, certification, or relevant experience is required.
- Advanced knowledge of welding and cutting machines, transformers, and electromechanical systems.
2. Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the production and assembly of welding machines and related equipment in a Canadian manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in setting up machines and equipment, performing assembly, testing, repair, and troubleshooting of prototype machines and transformers.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of production workers and technicians.
- Experience in recommending and implementing measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Proficiency in preparing production and performance reports to support management decisions.
3. Language Proficiency:
- Minimum language proficiency level of CLB 7 in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
- The language test results must be valid at the time of the interview.
4. Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities to supervise and guide workers effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to welding and electromechanical equipment.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in requisitioning materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure continuous production.
- Strong communication skills for training workers on safety procedures and company policies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments to optimize production processes.
