Our team is currently in search for a new Lead Waste Auditor – someone eager to make an impact, drive results and be part of our ambitious team! This is where you come in. As our new Lead Waste Auditor, you will be expected to: Manage the entire waste auditing project for The Regional Municipality of York. This includes: * Leading and managing a team of field technicians * Liaising with the on-site staff at The Regional Municipality of York * Being hands-on, you will be expected to pitch in to complete site work when needed * Supervising data entry into detailed and extensive spreadsheets * Report Writing The best person for this role is a natural leader, with exceptional time management and communication skills, as well as a strong attention to detail. This is a full-time 1-year contract position, with strong possibility to extend for three years based on our upcoming client requirements. We're offering a competitive starting wage between $22-$26/hr, commensurate with experience, plus company paid benefits after 6 months. The location of the work job is primarily at: York Region Waste Management Centre (YRWMC) Located at 100 Garfield Wright Boulevard, East Gwillimbury and Earl Turcott Waste Management Centre (ETWMC), located at 300 Rodick Road, Markham An infrequent portion of the work is located at other Municipalities and out of town such as: City of Toronto, Waterloo, Hamilton, Smiths Falls, Glengarry and so on. Qualifications Employee needs to meet the following criteria below. * Experience being the Lead auditor for at least five (5) waste audits for municipalities however we will consider reviewing resumes of candidates with a minimum of leading three (3) municipal waste audits. * Experiencing with and team supervision and leadership * Experience with and ability to liaise with the on-site staff * Additional experience conducting audits for commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors is an asset * Basic to intermediate proficiency with MS Office programs including Excel, Outlook, and Word * You must have your own transportation and a valid G driver's license * Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related environmental discipline is an asset Eco Canada Internship This position is partnered with Eco Canada Employment program which have been connecting environmental employers and skilled junior talent through employment programs that offer wage subsidies to drive valuable on-the-job work experience and essential skills training. Requirements for Candidates: * Intend to lead an environmental career related to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics * 30 years of age of younger * Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or refugee status. * Eligible to work in Canada * Graduated from a post-secondary institution * Able to work in a full-time, permanent position within the next 2 months * Unemployed or underemployed * Have not participated previously in a federal youth employment or education program * Not currently employed as a paid employee at the host organization * Not a family member of the host organizations directors or senior officers How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
